Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) Invariably, it is a requirement for entry to all Approved Supplier lists that the applicant company demonstrate a sound Health & Safety management system is in place.
CHAS is a scheme developed to help this assessment process.
The objective of the CHAS assessment is to confirm that the company’s health & safety arrangements meet a standard recognised and acceptable to local government bodies and major companies.
The review is carried out by independent auditors and looks in-depth at three areas:
- The company’s health & safety policy statement.
- The company’s health & safety organisation.
- Specific health & safety arrangements.
